Most Common Opportunities for Protection
- Age-based protection opportunities: Your immune needs shift over time, creating specific windows where vaccine protection has the highest preventative value.
- The "Turning 50" milestone: Shingles risk rises significantly at 50. This is a key time to begin the 2-dose Shingrix series and review Pneumonia protection if you have not received a modern conjugate vaccine.
- The "Senior Care" upgrade (65+): For adults 65+, High-Dose Flu and updated COVID-19 boosters are designed for stronger protection as immune response changes with age.
- The "Grandparent & New Parent" window (Tdap): Tdap in weeks 27-36 of pregnancy helps protect newborns, and close caregivers should confirm boosters are current before holding baby.
- The "Ages 75+" defense (RSV): RSV can cause severe complications in older adults, and a single RSV dose is recommended at age 75+.
Health, Lifestyle & Travel Shortcuts
- Living with diabetes or heart disease: These conditions can qualify you earlier for Pneumonia and Hepatitis B protection, even if you are under age 50.
- Immunocompromised status: Patients with weakened immune systems may qualify for Shingles protection as early as age 19, along with expanded COVID-19 booster schedules.
- Planning international travel: Visit us 4-6 weeks before departure for destination-specific protection, including Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Meningococcal options.
